What an incredible week it’s been since opening night! We’ve had the chance to enjoy some brilliant films showcasing storytelling from around the world — and right here in South Australia.
“Deaf” at Palace Nova, Rundle Street – a wonderfully acted, insightful and moving film that truly connects. No surprise it collected an Audience Award at Berlin.
“Jimmy Barnes: Working Class Man” at Odeon Star Semaphore – an emotional journey through the life of a national icon, told with heart and, of course, that unforgettable music.
️ “Made in SA” – celebrating homegrown South Australian shorts. Eight incredible stories with familiar local settings like Port Adelaide – such talent in acting, directing and sound.
And finally “Rental Family” at the beautiful Piccadilly – a full house and pink carpet night! An emotional and deeply human story inspired by centuries-old Japanese tradition.
It’s not too late to catch something amazing – the festival runs until 27 October, with a big Closing Night Street Party in Goodwood.
If you’re visiting or planning a trip to Adelaide next year – make sure to include the Adelaide Film Festival in your itinerary, and stay in one of our award-winning 4.5-star homes to enjoy the magic of cinema and comfort combined.
