As promised, here’s our summary of what we got up to for Buy SA Week – and what a delicious and inspiring week it was!
We kicked things off at the Adelaide Central Market for a fantastic cooking demonstration by the talented Larissa Sewell from MasterChef Australia and Nabula El Mourid, creator of supermarket.swap. Together, they showcased affordable, family-friendly recipes using amazing SA ingredients. The Market was buzzing with Buy SA For SA pride – stalls brimming with local produce, plenty of tastings, and a real celebration of our State’s food heroes.
One standout for me? A divine cheese from The Smelly Cheese Shop … it was so good I had to grab some for the family! From Barossa Fine Foods to countless other incredible stalls, it was local food heaven.
We also headed out to #drakes and #foodland Supermarkets, stocking up on SA goodies that we gift to our guests – a perfect way to share our SA stories with visitors from interstate and around the world.
Of course, we celebrate Buy SA For SA all year round in our homes, but for this year’s Buy SA Week we added something special – a $70 SA Products Gift Basket for guests. A huge thank you to Brand SA for all the work you do year-round to raise awareness and champion SA businesses. It makes me wonder – how many people tried something new from SA this week, even if they’ve lived here all their lives?
If you’re planning a visit to South Australia, come and stay in one of our award-winning homes away from home. We love sharing local knowledge and introducing you to the incredible products, flavours, and experiences our State has to offer.
South Australia – where supporting local tastes this good!
