Chinese lunar new year, also commonly referred to as Chinese New Year, starts on Sunday, January 22

It's the start of the new year on the Chinese calendar and Adelaide, South Australia has some wonderful celebrations happening to welcome in the Chinese New Year 2023 of the water rabbit.

Chinatown Adelaide will come alive for this 16 day celebration with lion dances, dancing, kararoke and other great festivities with entertainment and chinatown plaza food mecca. There will be a Lunar New Year Street Party on Saturday 28/1/2023 between Noon and 10pm within Gouger St and Moonta St, Adelaide, featuring a massive street food stall lineup. Their famous dragon dance and lion dance team will be circulating Chinatown and the Market District to lead you to the Street Party.

The central stage next to the Chinatown arch will host 60+ live performances day and night, showcasing the very best of Asian culture with music, singing, dancing and martial arts. This is a family-friendly event with free entry.
