Recently, we had the pleasure of attending an inspiring community event hosted by @City of Burnside Council, bringing together passionate people, ideas, and initiatives that champion sustainability and connection.
We proudly volunteered with @Butterfly Conservation SA, sharing their beautiful vision for protecting local species and creating habitats. Their VR butterfly and ant experience wowed all ages – and their live “herding caterpillars” performances (previously seen at the Adelaide Botanic Gardens) were simply captivating. Did you know membership is just $20/year and includes updates and insights into the wonderful world of butterflies?
We also met the amazing team from Animals Anonymous, who introduced us to a frogmouth owl, reptiles, and other native wildlife – all part of their mission to educate and inspire future generations.
It was also great to see Trees For Life SA – a cause close to our hearts. Their commitment to restoring native vegetation and regenerating land continues to inspire our own environmental efforts.
Burnside Council had a fantastic waste education display with easy-to-understand recycling magnets (yes, we grabbed one for the fridge!) and simple tips for reducing waste at home.
There were hands-on activities for kids like paper-making and face painting, and a bustling second-hand clothing space reminding us that fashion can be both fun and sustainable.
We connected with fellow small business owners and volunteers who are equally passionate about community and conservation.
A heartfelt shout-out to all the #volunteers who gave their time, knowledge, and energy to help make this event such a success. In celebration of National Volunteer Week, we thank you. Your efforts truly make a difference.
