What a beautiful sight across South Australia at the moment.
This photo, taken here in Gawler, captures one of our local rivers flowing strongly after the welcome winter rain we've been experiencing. Gawler is shaped by its waterways — the North Para River and South Para River meet here to form the Gawler River — and at the moment they're certainly putting on a show.
Across South Australia, this welcome rain is bringing fresh life to our landscapes. In a state known for its naturally dry climate, seeing our waterways flowing is something pretty special — and a wonderful reminder of just how precious water is to our environment, native vegetation and wildlife.
We're already seeing signs of what's to come, with our spectacular Sturt's Desert Pea appearing in the Flinders Ranges. We can only imagine what this wonderful rain may bring as we head towards spring.
At Country Style Louisa in Gawler, we're looking forward to spring too. We've lovingly planted and cared for our native garden for guests to enjoy, and we can't wait to see it respond to the season.
Thinking about your next holiday? Put South Australia on your list and experience our beautiful state as it bursts into life this spring.
Stay in one of our Adelaide Style Accommodation homes and make yourself at home while you discover more of South Australia.
Rain today. New life tomorrow.
