600 Aussie native trees with @Trees For Life (SA)
We promised to keep you posted… and here we are!
On 29–30 December (yes, right before New Year’s Eve ) we sowed:
2 species
5 boxes
300 tubes (300 trees)
The biggest job?
Preparing the boxes with soil.
Wetting the mix filling tubes + adding fertiliser — time-consuming, but so worth it.
Next step: the Trees For Life reference guide
These seeds were tiny and needed no special prep — just wet soil and care.
Today’s species
• Callistemon sieberi (River Bottlebrush)
• Eucalyptus fasciculosa (Pink Gum)
More on these beauties soon!
Tiny seeds on the wet soil… then clean gravel goes on top to protect them from wind + movement.
Now it’s the daily routine
In this warm weather the boxes are watered 3 times a day.
Next update: fingers crossed for little shoots!
These trees are heading to a landholder near Second Valley (south of Adelaide).
