Have you ever tried to photograph a butterfly?
They rarely stay still for long! Sometimes it is simply about watching, waiting and being patient for that special moment.
This beautiful Common Eggfly (Hypolimnas bolina) absolutely captivated us. Its dark wings reveal striking flashes of blue-purple and white when the light catches them – certainly worth waiting for that photograph!
The Common Eggfly is usually a butterfly of tropical northern Australia, but here’s something fascinating – during favourable warm and humid conditions, these butterflies can travel south, occasionally reaching South Australia and even Victoria. In South Australia they are visitors rather than permanent residents.
It’s amazing what you can discover when you take the time to stop, observe and learn about the natural world around us. 🌿
At Adelaide Style Accommodation, butterflies have a particularly special place in our hearts. 🦋
Our Butterfly Home in North Adelaide has little butterfly touches throughout the home and garden – a gentle reflection of our love of nature and the environment.
If butterflies fascinate you too, we encourage you to discover Butterfly Conservation South Australia.
Becoming a member is a wonderful way to learn more about butterflies, their habitats and conservation. Whether you live in South Australia or are simply visiting, there are also wonderful online resources to help you learn, stay connected and discover more.
🦋 Love butterflies too?
Take a moment to learn more, become a member of Butterfly Conservation SA and discover how we can all help protect these beautiful creatures.
Sometimes something as simple as watching a butterfly reminds us to slow down, be patient and appreciate the little things. 🦋🌿
