In the heart of North Adelaide stands one of South Australia’s sweetest treasures –Perryman’s Bakery, which has just celebrated its 100th birthday!
While Perryman’s is famous for their irresistible gingerbread biscuits (a treat generations of South Australians have grown up with), that’s only the beginning. Step inside and you’ll be spoilt for choice – from cakes and slices to pies and pastries, all baked with the same love and care that has kept this bakery thriving for a century.
In this photo, one of those little gingerbread icons is pictured in our North Adelaide home with another South Australian icon in the background – the Australian magpie. A fitting reminder of how history, nature, and local culture intertwine right here in our neighbourhood.
Perryman’s is just a short stroll from our Adelaide Style Accommodation homes in North Adelaide – meaning guests can pop out in the morning and be back with coffee and a bag of baked treats in hand.
If you’re visiting South Australia, book to stay in one of our 4.5-star award-winning homes away from home. Most of our guests fall in love with Perryman’s – and we’re sure you will too. There’s often a line at the door, and for good reason: they haven’t been around for 100 years without loyal customers supporting them. Word of mouth for good food is a tradition that still resonates today.
