🌳 History Friday: The Brewery Tree 🌳

Happy New Year! 🎉 As we step into January, we thought it would be the perfect time to combine our love for history and the environment by sharing the story of a true natural marvel in Melrose, South Flinders Ranges.

Say hello to the Brewery Tree – a majestic River Red Gum estimated to be over 300 years old with an incredible circumference of 9.29m PLUS! This iconic tree is not just a natural wonder but a historical treasure, standing tall in the middle of the road near the former Jacka Brothers Brewery, once owned by Geoff Slee and his wife, long-time residents and farmers in the Melrose district. 🌿 (check out our FB & instagram for more photos & follow us online)

See the Brewery Tree in its glory from the early 1900s, and compare it to today, where its size and presence remain awe-inspiring. You'll even spot me in the photo for scale – it’s truly enormous! (check out our FB & instagram for more photos & follow us online)

💡 Planning your next adventure? Why not make it a weekend getaway? Stay at our charming Country Style - Louisa home in Gawler, just 2.5 hours from Melrose. It's the perfect base to explore the beauty and history of South Australia, with all the comforts of home! 🏡

If you’re passionate about the environment or a history lover, share this post and help us celebrate this incredible piece of South Australian heritage. We’d love to welcome you on your journey! 💚
