History Friday - Today we thought we would talk about Sid Sidney Kidman Born 9/5/1857 - 2/9/1935, one of the greatest pastoralists Australia has ever seen and his connection to Kapunda, South Australia.

"Kapunda is better known as a copper mining town. But when the copper vanished the town still flourished. Sir Sydney Kidman had interest in many places but chose Kapunda as his base of operations. Kidman brought money, business and status to Kapunda. He assisted the Kapunda foundry, Kapunda's leading industry. Community and sporting groups benefited from his generosity. Through his exports the world heard of Sir Sidney Kidman of Kapunda. Kapunda still bears the markings of many of the businesses with which Kidman had dealings. Take the time to follow the "Kidman Trail" and discover why Kidman loved Kapunda so much".
