How exciting Adelaide Festival opening tomorrow night (3/3/2023) - FREE Event

The 2023 Adelaide Festival launches this Friday (3/3/2023) with a huge, free opening night concert in the natural amphitheater of the beautiful Elder Park. Sit under the stars, on the banks of Karrawirra Parri, as the stunning harmonies of Spinifex Gum who are joined by the mighty Adelaide Symphony Orchestra and special guest Emma Donovan.

Since its stunning premiere at the 2018 Adelaide Festival, Spinifex Gum has disarmed and uplifted audiences across Australia, bringing together the lush vocals of Marliya, the music of Felix Riebl and Ollie McGill (The Cat Empire) and the choreography of Deborah Brown. Under Lyn Williams AM (Gondwana Choirs), Spinifex Gum's voices blend rich harmonies with a joyous pop-choir sound, singing in both English and Yindjibarndi to speak to important social and cultural issues with passion and exuberance.

The concert will open with the debut performance of the Citizens' Orchestra, part of the Floods of Fire project initiated by the ASO under Artistic Director Airan Berg.
