How lucky are we to have this beautiful theatre in the heart of Adelaide?

Yesterday afternoon was spent at the magnificent Her Majesty’s Theatre, enjoying a matinee performance of The Great Gatsby: A Jazz Ballet Odyssey on the final day of its Adelaide season — and it certainly didn’t disappoint.

With a full theatre, fabulous costumes, wonderful jazz, brilliant ballet and tap dancing, and ever-changing scenes, it was a colourful and engaging performance from beginning to end.

A huge thank you and congratulations to the incredibly talented cast and crew who brought The Great Gatsby to life. So much work, creativity and energy goes into a production like this, and you certainly gave us a truly memorable afternoon at the theatre.

Her Majesty’s Theatre first opened its doors in 1913 and, more than a century later, we are still able to walk through those doors and enjoy live performances in this stunning Adelaide landmark.

How fortunate we are.

Thank you to the many people who, over the years, have put so much time, energy and care into retaining, restoring and breathing new life into this remarkable building for future generations to enjoy. It really is quite stunning.

While The Great Gatsby has now concluded its Adelaide season, there is always something wonderful to look forward to at Her Majesty’s Theatre — including Carmen in October and the magical The Nutcracker in November, plus more throughout the year.
