Love Old Trees, Art Sculptures and a pool?

Well then this walking day out is a MUST to put on your itinerary whilst you stay in one of Adelaide Style Accommodation family homes.

To start this walk, you only need to drive approximately 7 kms from "City to Beach" home or 13kms from "North Adelaide" Homes to the Sturt River Linear Park walk. We suggest you commence at the #Warriparinga #Wetlands in the #CityofMarion Council Area.

There is easy car parking at the Warriparinga Wetlands carpark and then you can walk along his flat, well managed path which meanders along the Sturt River. If you have little ones the path is suitable for strollers. There are some significantly large historical River Red Gums which have signs displaying the age of the trees, one of them is an amazing 500 years old. Plus there is some other significant environmental information on them well worth reading.

You will hear plenty of bird sounds and view some historical buildings along the route.

One of the newest highlights along this walk is "The Plastron* Sculpture. The sculpture is symbolically constructed from discarded items and other metals, to signify the life that was once found in our river eco systems. Thank you to the talented Artist #JamesStewart who has done a magnificent piece of work. There is something in there for everyone to identify with the items he has used to create this unique Sculpture.

Don't forget to take your bathers, because if the family want to have a swim before or after the walk, the Marion Outdoor Pool facility is just across the road and has lots of water activities for the kids (entrance fees apply)

Take your family/friends/bikes, certainly a fun and informative day out.
